Hi, need to set some enviroment variables such as PATH, JAVA_HOME and CLASSPATH during login. Where do I do this?

Cheers

If I'm understanding you correctly, and you want to do this on a per user basis at login.......

Use gedit to add them to the end of your
~/.profile
file.

So you'd add lines like
Code: [Select]
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle

once you've saved your edited .profile file, you can load it with:
Code: [Select]
source .profile
or log off/on.

Test the variable by echoing it:
Code: [Select]
echo $JAVA_HOME
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root' .. logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.
