Enter the BIOS and see if the SATA mode is set to AHCI

If not, set it to AHCI, then boot the LiveCD and post the output from:
Code: [Select]
sudo fdisk -l
if it discovers your hard drive, at this point DO NOT install Peppermint unless you intend to delete Windows .. just let us know if the hard drive as detected.

For now you'll probably need to change the BIOS back to be able to boot Windows.

Hi log762, when you post outputs to the forum, could you please use the code # function or, if the output is long, the spoiler Sp to encapsulate the text or code.  The code # function is located above the embarrassed  :-[ emoticon in the editor.  The spoiler Sp function is located above the crying  :'( emoticon in the editor.  Using these guarantees the thread will remain permanent and accessible for future reference.  Many thanks  ;)
Backup! Backup! Backup! If you're missing any of these -  you ain't Backed Up!

FINALLY!!! The disk is detected :D :D :D Thanks a lot

My point is delete windows and let only peppermint so I just run the normal installation?

If you have no use for windows then just run a normal install after booting a Peppermint live session and choose use entire disk which will wipe out windows....  :P

Yeah, if windows is being REPLACED, just do a normal install, letting it replace Windows and use the entire HDD.

There'd only have been a problem if you were keeping Windows (which would have required a tweak to Windows to work in AHCI mode).

Thanks for marking the topic solved :)

You might want to start a new topic if you're receiving "broken packages" errors as that *may* stop updates coming through.
