how do you install ceni on peppermint 6 (SOLVED)
« on: April 02, 2016, 03:28:27 pm »
can someone tell me how to install ceni on peppermint 6, I am trying to save as much memory as I can and NM-applet uses about 26 megs of ram...
Ceni uses a lot less, but I can't seem to get synaptic to find it and install it... thanks in advance ... :)

Download this:
https://launchpad.net/~unit193/+archive/ubuntu/test/+files/ceni_2.38~14.04_all.deb
and double-click to install

Start it with
Code: [Select]
sudo ceni
and when it moans about the screen being too small .. just maximise the terminal

Thank you Mark,
I will give this a shot, I was getting worried about the demise of Pep 3 and I found that my old gateway laptop ran pep 6 so i installed it this morning...
pep 3 used to boot to the desktop using about 78 megs of ram and i noticed i was running ceni in pep 3...
Pep 6 is around 128 megs of ram after all my tweaks to it, I am hoping to get under 100 megs of ram, we shall see...
The old gateway only has 512 ram and it is maxed out unfortunately...

I was also wondering is there any mouse adjustments in p6 my mouse is very sluggish and could use a bit of acceleration...
