How to move window buttons? [SOLVED]
« on: December 26, 2014, 08:11:32 pm »
Hello,
I've been searching and googling but to no avail. How can I change the position of the window buttons, specifically, move them to the left? In XFCE, this would be under Settings>Window Manager. The Peppermint Control Center lets me change the theme, adjust the compositing, etc., but there is no option to adjust the position of the controls.  Thanks for any help.

This site explains it, there may be another way, but this works if you are in a hurry to change it, rather then wait for a response from someone else...  good luck...  :)

P.S. I googled (move window buttons left in linux) and that was the first result, it took about 15 seconds total to find...  ;)

Open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
xfwm4-settingsthat will open the same XFCE windows manager settings dialog you mentioned ;)

Thank you PCNetSpec! That is the command I was looking for but couldn't find. Everything I did find kept assuming (not illogically!) that I was using XFCE and telling me to go to the menu and open Settings > Window Manager. I knew there had to be another way to get there.  :) Thanks again!

Another way in would have been:
Code: [Select]
xfce4-settings-managerbut be aware, not everything in there works as we don't have all the XFCE components ;)

Oh, and you're most welcome :)
