The LiveUSB shouldn't ask for login details, so something is wrong .. but they would be:-

Username = peppermint
password = <leave blank>

OK, Windows instructions.....

Copy the Peppermint-5-20140623-i386.iso file to your Windows PC

rename it to
Peppermint-5-20140623-i386.img

Download this, and install it:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/latest/download

Unpack the zip file

Then use "Win32Dis Imager.exe" to write the Peppermint-5-20140623-i386.img file to your USB stick

Use that USB stick to install Peppermint.

Or there's an "installable" version of Win32DiskImager" here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/Archive/Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exe/download

I did try those login details, but says incorrect password...
once I log in I can install it most probably and will not need to reformat USB.

but those details didnt seem to work

See my last response.

There should be no need to "pre-format" the USB stick .. but if you "really" want to, use the HP USB Format Utility I linked to earlier:

What does ? .. Win32DiskImager ?

Well yeah, I've already explained that .. to reuse it as a "normal" USB stick it would need reformatting using the HP USB Format Utility (as linked in my last post)

OK, it means it will format it in such a way that the PC recognised it as a CDROM rather than a mass storage deivice .. you would then need to reformat it (with the HP USB Format Utility) when you want to use it as a "normal" USB stick.
