Compaq Mini 110 netbook
« on: November 05, 2014, 07:42:53 am »
A couple of days ago I was also allowed to replace the Windows XP installation in one of the company's netbooks (a Compaq Mini 110) with my choice of OS; as you understand, my choice was PeppermintOS 5. Since we only use it as a backup solution (e.g. when a colleague needs to work but he doesn't have a computer handy, when we want to make a presentation etc.), the transition for my colleagues from Windows XP to Linux is expected to be smooth.

I installed several apps that will be needed, such us Libre Office, Dropbox, Skype, Mozilla Thunderbird, GIMP etc., typical stuff for office use.

The outcomes of inxi -F are the following:

As expected, PeppermintOS 5 and this netbook go pretty well along, at least for the time being. All hardware was automatically recognized and there was no need for manual intervention!

That sounds true - thanks for your warm response. Needless to say that without your support (and the rest of the community here as well) I may have not been so engaged to this specific distro - you helped me better understand how to work with Peppermint and solve some issues I faced so it came out normal to me to suggest Peppermint OS in every occasion I find :-)

Just keep up the great work that you are all doing here in the forum (in terms of support) and many more PeppermintOS installations will follow!
