does anyone know about these computers?

https://www.thinkpenguin.com/gnu-linux/penguin-pocket-wee-gnu-linux-desktop

i tried looking up linux specific computers and most are VERY expensive ironically.
this is a fairly decent price, but i dont see ubuntu mentioned in it. does anyone know
if this would run peppermint? just a shot in the dark still searching for a new computer.

it does say 'default configuration ubuntu' does this mean it already comes with ubuntu?
if anyone knows if i could run peppermint five on this no problem let me know and also
it offers upgrades like ram etc what should i add or not add?

it doesn't mention it having a vga port that may be a problem or is there a converter plug for that?

Mini DP to VGA adapters
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mini+displayport+1.2+to+vga&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amini+displayport+1.2+to+vga

Mini PC's
Might also want to see:
http://www.fit-pc.com/web/purchasing/order-intense-pc/
in particular the MintBox2 (core i5) .. whiich seems to have the same spec as the" Intense PC Business i5 Win7" model (4GB less RAM and Linux Mint rather than Win7 .. but $400 less too  :o

Both should support Peppermint if they support Mint/Ubuntu .. but it's up to you to be sure .. nobody here can say for sure unless they own one ;)

FitPC do quite a few fanless x86 miniPC's .. starting quite cheaply with AMD CU/GPU's .. and rising to core i7's

thanks for the info. i keep trying to seek out the right computer basically all i want is a new comptuer (laptop that can hook up to montor keyboard and mouse) or desktop with 500 gigs or more HD space and maybe more ram that i can run peppermint 5 on. I just want to make sure before i purchase that something WILL  run peppermint because i have no interest in using any other OS at this time im very happy with peppermint in fact for school the ice launcher is so easy to access things i need quickly for school its a must. If anyone knows of a new computer that WILL run peppermint (maybe that someone already owns) either desktop or pc thats under 500 bucks please let me know. It should be only another month before i have enough to purchase a new one.

Hi iamesperambient, in the Peppermint User's Guide: Chapter 1, you'll find all the minimum specifications required: Peppermint User's Guide.  As you can see, the specifications of the: Penguin Pocket Wee GNU / Linux Desktop far exceed the minimum requirements needed to run Peppermint Five

It says it has Ubuntu installed as the default OS.  Dump that and install Peppermint or, use something like Clonezilla to flash your existing installation over to it: http://clonezilla.org/.  It should be fine and run like a rocket.  With DDR3 memory expandable up to 16GB, you'll be hard pushed to ever run out of memory.  In the supported distros blurb, you'll find your answer:
Quote
Supported distributions:

* Trisquel 6, 6.01, 7
Parabola 2013.09.01, 2014.06.01, 2014.10.07
* Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.04, 13.10, 14.04, 14.10
* Kubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.04, 13.10, 14.04, 14.10
* Lubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.04, 13.10, 14.04, 14.10
* LinuxMint 13, 14, 14.1, 15, 16, 17
Peppermint Linux OS 5
Fedora 20
OpenSUSE 13.1, 13.2
Mageia 4
ZorinOS 8, 8.1, 9, 9.1
CentOS 7 Series 7.0
Scientific Linux 7 Series 7.0
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 Series 7.0

* Lubuntu/Kubuntu/Ubuntu 12.04.4 and 13.10 work 'out of the box', and earlier 12.04 releases work /w the LTS enablement stack installed. The same is applicable to Linux Mint. Version 13 requires the LTS enablement stack.

* Compatible with most other recent distributions. Trisquel 6 works with updated linux-libre kernel.
It looks like a really nice Linux specific rig.  Good luck  ;)!!
