Actually, I'm jealous. I need to pay for my trash on eBay (or Goodwill)  :))

I,ve had luck with trashed computers over the years. Pcliquidations.com is pretty good too. But nothing beats free.

Hi all, here is my screen and a question:  How do I shrink the task bar icons in the notification area to take up less vertical space?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6fj2k6jmftjymzc/Selection_008.png?dl=0

I am not doing much theming. I have arranged the task bar to vertical to give better working real estate.  The task bar feature "Window Menu" allows me to switch tasks easily without taking up much space.  However, the notification area icons are too large.

I also move the window title bar buttons to the left to minimize mouse distance.

Any ideas on where/how I can modify these icons would be appreciated.

Maybe hiding certain icons in the notification area is an option. You can make them visible if you need them.

To do this, go to panel settings, then objects and edit the notification area. Select hidden for the icons you don't want to see all the time.  Instead of those icons there will be a little arrow that makes them visible if you click it.

Thanks Fritz!  Editing the Notification area under panel preferences fixed it.

At first, I changed the Max Icon Size from 44 to 34 and nothing happened.  However, clicking to 26 made a big jump and they are now correctly sized.
