I have been using Peppermint 9 for 2 months with great satisfaction and amazement to see that, contrary to what we say, it is not limited to customization. I come from XFCE I like to have a lightweight and responsive lightweight computer while maintaining an attractive graphic look, occasionally winking at LXDE for its minimal look, but I found it too thin and not very appealing. Peppermint for me contains everything I want in a PC, I hope it never changes, I meanwhile I enjoy changing the connotations in terms of aesthetics. Thank you very much!

Peppermint for me contains everything I want in a PC, I hope it never changes, I mean while I enjoy changing the connotations in terms of aesthetics.

Well, said.

Peppermint will change. The underlying components are moving targets, and stitching them together into one cohesive package requires change and adaptation. But, rest assured, the core principals, under which Peppermint operates will never change.

We like it, too  :)

@aky-simo: Are you using FB to host your pics?

Been thinking about this all day, but didn't have time to ask you about it, this morning, at 0-dark thirty.

@aky-simo I am so with you..... First thing I do is change the word "Menu" to " Applications"
I think it is because  I first started out with gnome 2 ever since then "Menu" just looks odd to me  ;)

I made a little discovery:

If you open dconf-editor, and go to org > nemo > desktop and remove the tick from "use-desktop-grid", this enables you to show preview-images on the desktop at (almost) any size. It also allows these preview-images to overlap.

I like to put some notes and quotes and folders with current projects on my desktop. At the moment, it looks like this:

Yes. But I did not know that the elements on the desktop could overlap. That makes it more similar to a messy desktop in the real world.

That's a nice look, coyote. :)
[T]here are a lot of people happily running Peppermint ICE which hasn't been receiving ANY updates for a while now .. and I personally would STILL consider that MUCH more secure than any version of Windows with up-to-date AV/Anti-malware ;)

just showing my peppy desktop (still work in progress, should be strong and handy enough for many creative works) and sorry for the 4K - just native resolution

and i must say damn peppermint is so rocksolid - i really like that! thumbs up guys for your great work  ;)

links removed

... just some facts - icons "sardi" - modified into peppermint-red (WIP),
installed is cinnamon (for more conveient 4K-support, helped alot with the fonts) and the skin is Vivaldi (for now),
music player is Aimp through Wine with a matching skin W8 (works good enough),
specs in the terminal - i will stick by that, no updates / upgrades to pepp 9 planned yet

i'm on the testing ... Godot-engine, Unigine-Benchmarks, Blender 2.79 and 2.8 alpha (cant await the final release), Krita, Gimp, Inkscape (new to me) and such nifty tools like instant meshes, sculptgl and many more...

(on a small secondary linux filesystem is the newest KaOS release installed, for someprograms that must run on KDE Plasma, and for some new input from the unconventional interface in KaOS
(which i like) imagine a crafter (right hander) there would he practically place his tools on the right or on the left?)

i wish you all much fun with peppermint equal which version you use

and thanks again ... and again to the peppermint-team.
