Thanks perknh

Mrs perknh has a discerning eye I think they are both beautiful places, I do feel fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful small countries in the world I don't know where the top picture is but these cottages look like the perfect getaway, the lower image is Eilean Donan castle originally built in the 13th century it was once occupied by the Spanish during the first Jacobite rebellion in 1715.

Those look terrific Graeme, I particularly like the curved dock in the top one .. kinda puts one in mind of an old cobbled road camber with its placement on the image.

My desktop. I am yet to add docky, as I have enough eye candy with Alexa Bliss....lol

Ice works great with Lichess too.... a few tweaks with the font settings and replacing the new peppermint .png's with the peppermint 6 ones... I still think they are better!! and hey presto!

Breeze-dark + Numix Circle, and with the SWAT Kats thrown in for good measure (yep, it's one of my fandoms... I just stumbled upon the series recently, and I got hooked). I change wallpapers though often.

P.S. Does anyone remember Razor and T-Bone?  :D

Nice bright and colourful desktop, but can't say I've ever heard of the SWAT Kats ???

Am keeping it simple with Peppermix-Dark theme and stock wallpaper. Orange icons, simple conky and branded terminal. Details of all of these on my other posts.

Click for larger.

How do you employ that on-screen thing that monitors all your system functions? That's cool! The CPU usage and memory, etc??

Hi cfx795,

That is called a "Conky" and if you do a search of the forums you will find lots of references.

the fancy graphics within the terminal is called "screenfetch"

Hope this helps

Right on, thanks. I think I installed conky. How do I make it show up on my desktop? Do I need screenfetch?

(EDIT) I mean I'm pretty sure I installed conky, there's a checkmark there, says "installed." OK, I think I have conky running, but not really like mattosensei has it, like a part of my desktop. Jeez, I'm surprised how much RAM I'm using! I'm glad I didn't go with less... cpu usage isn't too bad, though.

Google conky manager and install that. Then spend the next yr or so mastering Conky's and or just find ones other people have made...

I made a post on this forum about a GUI software called "Conky Manager" that makes it easy displaying conky and configuring it. You can check it here. There is also a link to donwload it.
