Custom Resolution on Mac-mini
« on: October 25, 2014, 05:35:36 pm »
I found some guides on how to custom configure the resolution from Grub, but I want to do mine at the OS level.  My problem is I have this 720p tv (HDMI) that seems to have a hard time displaying 720p correctly.  It renders just fine, but there are about 6 or so pixels off every edge that are rendered off screen.  Nvidia has a tool that lets you resize your screen by making small adjustments to your's weird, it's like my tv sees 720p but renders something like 1268x708...I don't get it, but it's not just my mac-mini doing it, it's any hdmi device.  I've tried messing with *every* internal scaling option on the tv, none of them help.  ANYWAY, I'm trying to force the resolution at the OS level and wasn't sure about the xrandr stuff.  Has anyone else encountered this kind of thing?
