I hope you can add enough space on the panel to put that Application Launch Bar where you want it.  I don't know how many spacers you can add to the panel, but something tells me you're going to find out.  ;)

hahaha def im going to play around with it soon. if i can get a nice black panel at the bottom with even less resources used it would be nice its just
a shame you cant use custom icons i think thats the only reason why i dig cario dock (and them specifically cos their the only one that doesn't crash
or have bugs at least for me).

Have you tried the version of Docky that I started the thread with?  All the problems that are associated with the one in the repo are gone.  At least on my machine, it has given me no problems at all.  As I said in the original posting, it is ironic that the supposedly unstable experimental one is rock solid compared to the flakey "stable" one in the repos  :D.

Yes you can use custom icon sets,  I'm using an icon set called, Moka-Minimal.  See image:

With the setup I'm using, Docky uses around 80MB (2% of 4GB RAM) and next to zero CPU usage. See image:

This version has NONE of the problems associated with version 2.2.0.  It functions within normal parameters.  The Docky theme being used is, docky-invisible.  I hope this helps  ;).

on my system it says cario dock is only 38 mb and 1 % usually so i guess thats good?
if cario really isn't using up so much ram than i guess ill stick with it.

Yes you can set individual icons with Docky.  For example download or make the icon(s) you wish to use and apply it/them to the programme(s) you are working on.  Navigate to where ever these programmes are located and drag and drop whatever programme you want to Docky.  A good location for is: ~/.local/share/applications for locally saved packages/programmes and /usr/share/applications for globally saved  packages/programmes.  The Docky themes can be easily found with a DDG or Google search.  I hope this helps  ;).

thansk i may give it a shot. so far though looking at my task manager cario is pretty low on resources so i dont
think at this time i need to remove it. I'm trying to think if there is anything else i would remove which uses a lot
of resources but it appears my meter only really goes up high and my temps when im watching videos other than that
everything seems to be pretty light running. and not videos on my HD using vlc but videos via hulu/netflix.
