So you wanted a Win8 or OS X look .. what's wrong with a Linux look ?

Just pulling your leg ;)

well the way i see it is linux doesn't have a look it can be whatever it wants thats whats so great about it, its up to the imagination of the user to make it how they want :)
but for my main user account i wanted to go with the osx (feel) i dont think it looks like osx but it feels like it being i was always a mac user i wanted something i could relate to
and i like it like that. i see windows as ugly and used only for work so i figured a windows like set up would be good for school as i would view at as such just down to business
lets get this school work done kind of thing. But once i get a new computer (hopefully in a couple months im saving) im going to mess with brand new theme ideas and try something
totally different. I actually didn't find peppermints native look honestly much different from mac it was very easy to adjust too but i just wanted a bit more eye candy while still being simplistic
i think i did a decent job at that :) at least i hope ha

You know, the funny thing is...

When I was running winders, I used to skin it with a program called "WindowBlinds".

Long story short:  Microsoft hired Stardock to skin Windows 2000.  Remember the default XP Teletubby theme? Stardock did that.  One day, Stardock got pissed off at Microsoft, and literally walked out the front door, in Redmond, with all of Microsoft's code.

Anyway, here's the funny part...

The WindowBlind theme I used in W2K Pro looks almost identical to what I run in modern-day Linux. LoL  :D

If I can find a screenie from 12 years ago, I'll post it here.  I *think* it would shock you...

EDIT

Here is a sampling of 530 WindowBlinds themes, if you're curious:  http://customize.org/windowblinds/themes

Yeah I remember WindowsBlinds well .. Stardock are still around, "fixing" Win8 with "Start8" & "ModernMix", and still attempting to make the Windows UI half as customisable as Linux with "ObjectDock".

Just think what Stardock could achieve if they switched to writing Linux customisation software  :o
(then again, maybe they'd not have anything to copy then)

I dunno, maybe they could come up with something like a rotating desktop cube, or window animations, or .. Oh, wait....

[EDIT]

Win2k Pro .. ouch .. I feel for you, and hope you've recovered by now ?

[EDIT 2]

I just noticed the "System Requirements" for Start8 (a Windows 8/8.1 start menu replacement)
