Hi straybit,

I do not wish to just blow you off, but since you are using Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS rather than PeppermintOS I suggest you ask in their forum. The PeppermintOS forum is for ... well ... PeppermintOS issues.  ;)

You can install a DE as with any *buntu variant.  Why you would want to go away from Pop-OS on native hardware is a bigger question (but not for here).  Your basic options are to install a Dual boot... or install from Ubuntu/POP repos (in a new user account, else risk borking your native (Pop!) Gnome DE system).

with debian/buntu based systems install tasksel then run it from terminal and youll get the option to install any desktop from a list. then simply log out and change session at the login screen, usually some icon near the login box or top panel
For wallpapers ive made you can download them here

@Slim:
I started to install Pep10 beside it, but the hw was too new and pep couldn't find wifi.  Have another post on that.  That is the reason I asked here.  I can do way more with Pep on an old Vista laptop than I can with Pop-OS as it stands.  If I get Pep to work well, I may just do away with Pop.  But I will make sure everything is copasetic before I do that.
Or, if I can get a de that I can work with, I may keep it.

Thanks for the replies, guys.  I'll be working on them as soon as I can manage the time.
