I had setup SDA5 to put pep in but it couldn't use the wifi

If I can't install Pep on it, I'll use it as a Data partition as shown in the above df.
What do I need to do to get Pep to recognize the wifi?

Your laptop hardware being more recent than 18.04's kernel could be the issue.

Intel Core i5-10210U is pretty recent https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/195436/intel-core-i5-10210u-processor-6m-cache-up-to-4-20-ghz.html

I suspect the wifi could be too new for Peppermint to recognize.

Hi straybit,

I agree with @josephd and would suggest trying a newer kernel (such as kernel 5.8.16 or 5.9.1) which you can download from here and install from the command line using:

Code: [Select]
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

after confirming the checksums, of course.  ;)

if you laptop has an ethernet port plug it in then run a sudo apt update, after that try this command, then reboot if it installs.

sudo apt install dkms r1868-dkms

otherwise go to pkgs.org grab both packages debs and install them with gdebi or else use the

sudo dpkg -i yourpackagename.deb

command for each package, install dkms first then the r8168 package and reboot. youll know it has worked if you get the new networks found when you log in

For wallpapers ive made you can download them here

That was also my thought - that the hw was newer than the sw.
Hopefully, I'll be able to work on it tomorrow PM.
