Setting up video acceleration.
« on: October 16, 2020, 02:54:25 am »
Hi, I'm a newbie and need help to correctly set up and play .mov files which are ok for audio but freeze/stutter on video.

From my research I assume that I need to set up the graphics/video acceleration but have not found out how. For info I have installed Peppermint on dual boot with original Vista which plays the files correctly.

libva info: va_openDriver() returns -1

If more info about my set up is needed please keep it simple as I'm old and Windows is ingrained in me,

Might be a little off topic - maybe - maybe not...

I find this utility invaluable when setting up hardware. It's one of the tools I use during a fresh install; and it continues to be helpful, from time-to-time. You can find it in the Synaptic Package Manager.
