xfce4-display-settings error message (SOLVED)
« on: September 01, 2020, 04:42:08 am »
Greetings Pepperminters

I can't get Settings-Display to launch, the panel appears then disappears again.  Selecting the Run in terminal option the following error message appears:

"xfce4-display-settings

(xfce4-display-settings:2462): dbind-WARNING **: 12:15:27.173: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
Gtk-Message: 12:15:27.949: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged."

I'm running the P10 respin and have applied the latest Grub update if that has any bearing.  Although I rarely, if ever, use the Settings-Display function it would be good to get it working from the Launcher.

Thanks in anticipation...

Just tried this again and the problem has gone away.  Running xfce4-display-setting in terminal now reports the following:

"Gtk-Message: 17:16:41.181: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged"

which I'm fine with...
