losslesscut will not show in application menu after installation
« on: September 06, 2020, 12:43:24 am »
trying to find software to cut/copy some parts of mpeg4 vids the most of them are to difficult until i stumbled onto
losslesscut.
https://itsfoss.com/losslesscut-video-cutter/

synaptic does not find it, and the other app utility find them, install them but there is no link in the multimedia menu.
i can only start it  after its installed and can click the start button, ore go to the software app and look it up there again.
this software is that easy that it is a shame this problem exists
but why does it not show in the multimedia menu?

Hi pepperOS, as the instructions say "Installing LosslessCut on Linux
LosslessCut has no tedious installation procedure. Just download the Zip file using the button below. Extract it. And launch the application by double-clicking on the “LosslessCut” executable file in the extracted folder. You may have to change the permission of the file to make it executable. These steps work on all the Linux distributions."
Once in a while you will find software that work this way.
What was I thinking?
