Huge Round of Applause to Team Peppermint!
« on: September 01, 2020, 08:38:00 am »
A buddy of mine just told me some news just announced by "clem" of the Linux MInt team.

He forwarded the link to me of the Monthly News Letter from the Linux Mint developers.

Half way through the message, it refers to ICE and what LM is working on to work with ICE.

A quote from clem,

Quote
We started talks with Peppermint and we are currently trying to figure out the best way to work together.
https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3960

A working together kinda thing between the 2 best Linux distros out here can only be good for both.

I hope that this will include other things as well in future.

A HUGE round of applause to both Team Peppermint and "clem" at Team LM.

Together we are better.

Many Warm Regards,

The Omen

Yep, I've heard that Clem has reached out to us about contributing to ICE's future development. I'm not a developer so I stay out of those conversations as not to muck things up :D

Hi folks,

Fossbytes has also published an article on this today and they also are mentioning Peppermint as the source of what LM is doing.

Their also preparing an interview with "clem".

Who knows, Maybe it could turn into a joint interview with clem and a Peppermint developer.

I may be wrong but to me it looks like LM is basically taking the ICE app and renaming it as a Mint Web App Manager.  When you look at it, it looks just like the ICE app with some asthetic changes.

I saw the article today.  It is a well polished Ice app.  It is nice something is coming from Peppermint's Ice.  We borrowed many things from Mint so it's only fair the finally do the same.

That's a very good point. We use their updater, "just to name one" :D

well its better for us because the code would eventually need to be updated and having a team like mint work on it gives us time to get other things done. plus when its ready to ship we can make use of it too. wasnt too sure how it would turn out but looks good from what ive seen on screenshots
For wallpapers ive made you can download them here
