Hi.  I just updated Grub and was notified that the file changed.  I selected keep because I figured because the machine was fine, there was no reason to change the file along with the changes from the software updater.  Unfortunately, the computer now turns off when selecting reboot.  Could you help me to fix this problem--I think it's a script problem?

A grub update just rolled in. I read the diff before replacing the config. Looked benign enough.

Here it is, if anybody wants to take a stab at it...

I looked at the commit. I think I would try reinstalling them:

Code: [Select]
Upgraded the following packages:
grub-common (2.02-2ubuntu8.17) to 2.02-2ubuntu8.18
grub-efi-amd64 (2.02-2ubuntu8.17) to 2.02-2ubuntu8.18
grub-efi-amd64-bin (2.02-2ubuntu8.17) to 2.02-2ubuntu8.18
grub-efi-amd64-dbg (2.02-2ubuntu8.17) to 2.02-2ubuntu8.18
grub-efi-amd64-signed (1.93.19+2.02-2ubuntu8.17) to 1.93.20+2.02-2ubuntu8.18
grub2-common (2.02-2ubuntu8.17) to 2.02-2ubuntu8.18

And, pick 'Replace' when asked...
